Enter the Titanic is an independent historical research and reconstruction project. This notice covers the public Enter the Titanic website and its production deployment.
Data processed when you visit
The current website does not provide user accounts, contact forms or direct visitor submissions. The site code does not intentionally include advertising pixels, marketing trackers, Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. Archive data and viewing copies are served as part of the website.
The hosting provider, Vercel, may process technical request, diagnostic and security data needed to deliver and protect the service, which can include information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or user-agent information and related technical logs.
Purpose and legal basis
Technical processing is used to deliver, maintain and secure the website. Where the GDPR applies, processing necessary for these operational and security purposes is based on the legitimate interest in providing and protecting the site, subject to applicable rights and safeguards.
Cookies and analytics
The current site code does not intentionally set marketing or advertising cookies and does not include third-party marketing analytics. If non-essential tracking, advertising technology, user accounts or direct data collection are introduced later, this notice and any required consent mechanism will be updated before those features are enabled.

The website code does not maintain a separate visitor database. Retention of infrastructure and security logs is governed by the hosting service and applicable project settings. Visitor data is not intentionally sold or used by this website for advertising.
